Hi all

Ive been trying to get gmail to work on this phone but to no avail, Dont know if the settings i have are correct as i had a look on google and found a thread somewhere else that had settings for the 810i for gmail.

I have a feeling its not working because im with tmobile and perhaps my settings are wrong but i cant be sure...someone did mention that tmobile might be blocking some ports...but again i havent a clue which ones.

So anyone here been able to get gmail to work with their mobile phones namely the w810i??

Any help or advice would be mucho appreciated:)

i would be surprised if the W810i is different to the K750i in a way other than software/case... I would have thought the menus would require the same information so try the above. Probably best to go to a tmobile shop and see if they are blocking the functionality also.

Ahh cheers mate, should have done a search lol:p

Well the phone is now de-branded so has no tmobile settings on it although earlier i went to SE website and got the mms and wap settings sent to me which works perfectly. Just gmail doesnt although you could log in by going to http://m.gmail.com through your browser etc.

Cheers ill have a look at that thread mate:)

Hmm just tried all the settings but it gets stuck on finding server:confused: and then times out.

Think ill have to give tmobile a ring and see if they are blocking any ports or blocking use of pop email. I hope not because if they are then this tariff im on is of no use to me as i need the unlimited email option to get my emails on the go so to speak.

Unless Iainb or morba can give me any advice etc.

just goto this address on your phone http://m.gmail.com works a treat

Yes i know i could do that but id rather not have to log onto the net then go to gmail. As far as i know this phone supports pop email so i prefer to do it that way...let it push the email to my phone automatically rather than logging onto the net

Anyways seems like no one really know so im going to get in touch with tmobile and see what they say..hopefully its just one of my settings thats out.
