Been playing around with Photoshop this evening working on an image I took back in January, back then I wasn’t impressed with what I got with the exception of this one.

So anyway this is what I’ve come up with:-

Any thoughts/comments? I’ll post the original in a bit to show how they compare.

It looks like you've made copy of the background layer, blurred it or something, then overlaid it, possibly setting the layer blending method to 'mulitply' or something - is that what you have done???

Pretty much, this was the original image

Straightened
Cropped
Remove seagulls, posts, and unwanted details
Duplicated layers
Add guassian blur to duplicate
Merge Layers Multiply
Adjust colour mixer
Adjust levels
Add in new sky layer (one with clouds)
Mixed and cut together, setting opacity fairly low
Flatten
Add border
Save :)
