Has anyone had recent(ish) experience with Seagate drive warranties. Where do I have to send them (don't need an address - just the country), does it make any difference that they're all 'OEM', and what am I likely to get back given that these are old tech (IDE) drives?

I've now got three of them all almost exactly three years old - same batch, same usage, same failure. Too bad I got them when Seagate were still offering five year warranties, eh? :)

you send them to an address in the UK, and you get back the same type of drive you sent, even if its old and they don't make them anymore (in my experience).

Go on their website to process the RMA's, it's a UK address and you'll get back IDE drives of the same or higher capacity.
If they were sold with a system and not just listed as 'OEM' on a retailers page then you might not be able to RMA - you'll be able to tell from their warranty checker.

Thanks. :)

They're all individual drives bought from OcUK, and warranty checker says they're good until 2011 (or at least the one drive I've checked so far is).

I'm running tests to find out if the drives are really failling or if it's just a few bad sectors (which normally would be fine but becomes a problem when you've got them plugged into a RAID controller).
