Seat Recover For Comfort?

Anyone recommend at seat recover place, I need extra padding to stop numb ass after 50 miles.

Loads of upholsterers will do it. Look for car places too, any decent craftsman will be able to do it, but be prepared to get your wallet out.

Most upholsterers are crap at bike seats pick wisely look for some one who restores vintage vehicles.

What bike is it for? More padding isn’t necessarily the answer. Carefully designed support to take weight off key pressure points, e.g. the perineum, make a much bigger difference.

I put a Sargent seat on my bike. It was a game changer. Went from numb dick in 30 minutes on the standard seat to 5hrs+.

Also consider bar risers to move the pressure points.

Though not what you asked - a cheap fix is cycling shorts... I picked up a pair a few years back, and wear them under my leathers/jeans and they helped a lot.

CB1000R so pretty upright. When I was buying many reviewers complained about the seat being too hard/thin.

Sargent don’t seem to do a seat for your bike but Corbin are of similar repute and worth checking.
If that is too pricey, it may be worth checking out a motorcycle seat specialist per your original post. Sorry I can’t recommend any as I haven’t direct experience.

You may come across recommendations for gel pads and the air hawk. Don’t waste your money.

The only time I've seen gel pads offer a benefit is when they are PART of the solution built into a reshaped seat.

Try the stock seat on a Suzuki DR650 - that thing is torture. Probably supports the aftermarket seat industry LOL

I've got an aftermarket seat (custom one) on my GSX1400, it's infinitely better than a stock seat but my coccyx still hurts like heck after a bit of riding (or sitting in office chairs or whatever). Sucks.

I had a Suzuki DR800 for a while. It was like sitting on a jackhammer aimed directly at the back of the balls.

Some aftermarket and custom seat makers go down the road of ‘more padding is better’ which isn’t always the case. What can happen is excess padding can bunch up and end up focusing more pressure on the coccyx, perineum, and the pudendal nerve causing all sorts of pain and discomfort, and in some cases, chronic conditions.

When I first got my Sargent seat I was gutted. It felt hard to the touch. However I was pleasantly surprised at how good it actually was.

Some kind of mesh fitted, foam work and gel insert and new cover. It's going to look like that but with no red bits.

It's back. Not ridden on it yet, but it feels better sitting on it. Hopefully some decent weather this weekend.
