because i'm getting nothing but grief from him, bought the modded megadrive from him took 10 days to arrive and wont even play pal games, it's not a case of clean carts, its a case of the copy protection going off, even though it is set to play pal carts.Modified Megadrives? I thought the only 'modification' needed to play imports on a UK consoles was to file away part of the cartridge slot, because the carts were a different shape?

Another +1. You could sit at the PC with an emulator and a different pad, but it's just not the same experience.
Give me a TV, a comfy chair and the proper controller every time.
I also find that the 8/16 bit consoles look remarkably good on modern TVs given their age.

You could sit at your TV with the same pad and an emulator, with enhancements and have it better than the original.

Maybe so, but there's something therapeutic about sticking the cart in and turning the console on.![]()

I have enough Megadrives to build a castle. Darn carboots and people on em not selling the games separate.
Megadrives and Master Systems
Any snes'?
The fact it won’t play a PAL game on a PAL console suggests the mod is working, otherwise the game would work

Actually yes but it's gone that funny colour with age. I'd have to see if I still had the power cable and TV cable though as I've not used it in many years.
I think the very first mega drives were region free, then they change to region locking.
I disagree.
I'd personally get a lot more satisfaction playing the original as it was intended. Playing through a Link to the Past at the moment and there's no way I'd get the same from it if I plugged my PC in and emu'd it up.
Not to mention having a shelf of carts being far more pleasing to the eye than a folder of .roms
Snes can use the same AV cable as the N64 and Gamecube, and you can get them very easy from certain auction sites.
gutted.
