Selling my old gaming laptop.

I'm going to format the SSD and reinstall Windows 10 onto the machine as I bought it with Windows 10 pre-installed.

When I first set up the machine 2 years ago Windows 10 was registered with my Microsoft account.

Is it possible to unregistered that key from my Microsoft account and somehow add it to the laptop so that whoever buys it will have Windows 10? I'm not really sure how it works these days.

Thanks!

I've never assigned a W10 key to a MS account, its always just been assigned to the hardware. Noticeable when you rebuild/upgrade drive and reinstall and the OS automatically activates on connection to the net regardless of a MS account or just local admin account sign-in.

Oh...weird. When I built my new Machine it kept telling me to Activate Win10, I was expecting it to take over my old license. I had to buy a new key.

Now i'm confused!
