Selling old ocuk built systems - need advice

Hi everyone,

I've bought a new ocuk system last year to replace my old one and now I am wondering what's the best way to sell the old system, even if for parts (it's got some good components inside still, but I don't have time to break it down so I'd rather sell the whole thing as a system).

Does any of you have experience selling old systems? And advice? I was thinking about eBay but it seems a bit complex to sell it on there... Are there any places in the UK that specialise in buying entire systems and pricing such purchase?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

As above, cash only. Even if taking a hit at getting a quarter of the price less, the simplicity of showing buyer it works, getting cash is quick and easy. If FB doesn't pull through even after price drop, just break it down. Demand is pretty good right now for sellers.

Shipping on ebay you face scammers, packaging properly with packing out the system and £30/£50 delivery cost if you want to be sure you're insured, then 13% fees.

Sold a decent video camera on ebay last year-ish with only £1 fees. Postage was still £30, arrived late too. Seller happy, good feedback received. But never again for electronics. It feels like gambling to me, and luckily i did win this time. Sold my Xbox to a mate with brand new headset sealed for £80, and he collected. I could have got more at CEX (they buy some PC bits), but that would have been hassle and few hours of my day gone easy.

Would not sell on Ebay, paypal gives lifetime warranty. Remember selling a card on there, advertised clearly as second hand and zero warranty. Several months later the buyer made a paypal claim and got all his money back. Despise Ebay and Paypal, will never use them.

What, thought it was 180 days lifetime warranty seems crazy.

I was pretty angry. It isn't about warranty with Paypal, they are massively pro buyer. There no way you should get money back for a second hand product.
You should get 7 days after the item is delivered to raise a return ticket as that is ample time to inspect and test if it works properly.

Really? It straight up says when you sell second hand you can offer 14 days money back and thats more than generous.

Ebay are now ditching paypal though and payments to sellers will go straight to their bank accounts, just had emails telling me to update my account for such.

yes, heard all the bad news about paypal, even from big users.. its only 'long time users' of ebay that have the time to do all the checks on feedback, etc who stay with it..

do note to say 'as is' , no 'guarantee' etc.. people are getting to lazy/greedy - my friend works in a very small charity shop, and person asked if they can return stuff!!! they do not understand that charities make next to 'nothing' after rent and rates are paid!!!
