Hi,

My girlfriend is looking to try and sell some of her photographs, she has some of Hawaii that she took last year. Do any of you guys have some website suggestions where you can sell photographs?

I have website space so thats sorted for storage.

Cheers

so far i have looked at www.photostockplus.com although you gotta pay for there services. checked out www.photobox.co.uk (which i notice some people off this fourm have shops on there) which i am already a member of tried to upgrade to pro gallery but cant find the button it tells you to select.

has anyone had success with photobox? or any other photo selling website.

cheers

Ultimately it's not going to matter where you host the images or how you sell them, although it will help. You could have the best setup possible, but unless people are visiting the site you're not going to get any revenue flowing your way. If your missus is looking at selling her work, make sure she's got the marketing side down and knows where she'll need to advertise.

Photobox is a nice simple way of selling your pictures; they provide the gallery, webspace and deal with the payment and delivery for you. You set your prices against the cost prices off their site, and they take 10% commission off the difference. So if you sold a £10 print for £100, you'd get £81 credited to your Photobox account. You can withdraw your balance once a month, providing it's over £50, directly to a UK bank account via BACS.

Timbo; read this.

If the photos are of landscapes, seascapes etc then it might be worth approaching some local art shops and seeing if they are interested in selling some for you.

It's a minefield on the web and you will only sell photos if you have your own website that is updated regularly and is advertised on key sites or publications.

You may be lucky with Photobox and chance opun someone but it's unlikely.

OT, but just thought I'd say hello. Yes I do remember you, but with slightly less hair  :D Hope it's all going well. Nice to see you've caught the travelling bug. Can't say I'm surprised. We've been doing Eastern Europe, but we're venturing to Goa in November. Thailand looks awesome, and it's on our "must go" list.... maybe next year :) Take care.

hello there, yes the hair is i would say quite a bit longer these days :-) the problem with catching the travel bug is you need money to travel so work is a must, which is a shame. thailand was great back in 2004 when i went, i loved japan last year and just spent 4 weeks in spain which was nice. take care too.

back to the topic, i have got my photobox pro gallery working finally i was signed up to the carphone warehouse version so i need to get it transfered over. just need to get my pictures up now :-)
