But, think about this before you answer.

Were you able to sell a kidney for a sum of money, ignoring the sum, could you actually do it?

i mean, from a personal point of view what happens if one goes knackered in a decade and your having to have a transplant yourself?

just a thought.

Surely the compensation would ultimately affect your decision?

If it was for £200 there's no way I would.

If it was for £100,000 then it would certainly tempt me, especially if I needed the money.

However, if a family member or friend needed one to live, I would give it up immediately.

Remember, that a person can live fine with just one healthy kidney. Many people are born with only one and never realise.

I wouldn't give mine up. Never know when I might need it.

Also I think anyone who sells their kidney should have to pay the same amount should they need a transplant in the future

Isn't that a bit of a selfish outlook? That kidney would save a life.

Not a friend, it has to be much closer than that, but yes.

On the subject of cash, I would do medical testing :p

I would quite happily sell my right one as it has been causing me untold pain since Boxing day. I am feeling sorry for myself & awaiting an Ultra scan.
Anyone who fancys popping round with a sharpened spoon would do as i am sure that will hurt less.
Price negotiable but the quicker you get here the cheaper it'll be :D

If your other kidney is healthy, then never. :)
Yeah but how could I guarantee that my other kidney won't fail.

No it wouldn't. I know it's a tad selfish, but kidney transplants don't save lives, they just improve quality of life - so nobody lives or dies by my decision

if you had a kidney taken you wouldnt be able to drink loads of alcohol would you?

Yes, but not all the time. If you got excessively drunk every weekend you would run into problems after a while, but then again at the same time your liver wouldn't be in great shape.
