Bit of a weird story this but would like some advice if possible.

My son dropped my iphone 3gs in the snow and the screen was damaged so i sent it to a company called mobileease (mobileease.co.uk) for repair. They have excellent feedback and prices were reasonable so sent it away. It arrived at their warehouse on Wednesday morning (via recorded del). This morning i checked their website and noticed my order status still said "awaiting handset". So i spoke to them and basically it turns out that a huge fire destroyed their (and several other) premises in the early hours of Thursday morning. I verified the story by finding their address and looking on the BBC news website...

So long story short, my phone got sent there with water damage and now is a pile of ashes.

Obviously I feel very sorry for them but where do i stand with my phone ? Can i claim a replacement from anywhere ?

They should have insurance so you should be covered. Obviously you can prove they received it before the fire.

You may not get a new one though as their policy may not be new for old but you should get a replacement.

Contact them,

I suppose i should call them again then to discuss a replacement. I just feel like a bit of a **** calling again "Hi, sorry your business burnt to the ground yesterday but please can I have a new phone ?"

That place was like in a indoor market type of place, would they have insurance for things like that or just basic theft insurance since they share the space with many other 'businesses' in that now burnt warehouse?

The building itself is, or was owned by the council.

Lol.

Sorry :(

Also,

Once insurance pays off, get a phone that is more withstanding of slips, trips and falls, like a Desire!
