Separate Soundcard?

Have ordered the ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP AiLifestyle Series P35 Socket 775 Socket eSATA 8 channel Audio ATX Motherboard

Will I need a separate soundcard for games / mp3 etc? Would it free up resources if I did? Any recs?

I'll also be hooking up a PS2 to the Dell 2407WFP monitor (via S-Video) so I'll need to wangle the sound somehow... any ideas?

I've heard people have got gleaming pictures from it. But it doesn't carry sound though.

This is for main sound, not attached PS2. Will having a dedicated soundcard improve system resources?
