Seriously, whats with some neighbours!

My walls are as thin as paper.
I've got a house full of Poles, 2 doors down from me and every night for about a month we had techno bass notes thumping through our walls.
Some nights it went on till like 2-3am on a ****ing weekday.
Called the police a couple times who reluctantly just went round and asked them to keep it down. Did that work? Did it ****.
Had to log a complaint with the council who monitored sound levels, i dont know what they did but its worked and life is bliss!
But yeh, neighbours are pricks.

I lived in Halls during my first year, I am immune to noise from any neighbour 
Dad was living next door to a noisy neighbour few years back, even i heard it while visiting once. The guy was doing DIY at 4am in the morning!. Let's just say, fight outside guy has a black eye and he moves out 2 months later
