Run SETI on a GPU?
Run SETI on only one PC?

Apologies for there being no news post last week but I was on a canal boat with no hope at all of getting the news done. As always with cases like this, the news covers the past fortnight EXCEPT for the weekly dumpage and single league stats, which cover the past week only.

The news has been shifted again, this time from Fridays to Sundays. I've decided to do this in order to let the various stats sites catch up with Berkeley’s weekly three-day outage.

We keep going from strength to strength; our RAC has never been so high and we have five teams in our sights!

Welcome to the new members, and as always congrats to the tiffy winners! Don’t forget that you can get your tiffies from www.teamocuk.co.uk; simply click on your username, scroll to the bottom of the page and use the relevant urls to display them in all their Technicolor beauty on this forum! If you think you have been missed off the milestones list, please let me know and I’ll add you manually.

Its plodding along nicely, louder than my 260 ever was so need to do something about that sooner rather than later :( But they do overclock easy  :D

But I need another one :D only because my old 260 is bright red and looks odd in my case now :p

I got mine @
Core: 800Mhz
Shaders: 1600Mhz
Mem: 1670Mhz
Voltage: 1.000mV

:D :D :D Easy
I wonder if it can go higher

It can so far 820/1640/1670 @ 1.010mV :D

Edit: Just been keeping a eye on my temps and pretty good I think

room is at 26°c
fan is at 68-72%
GPU temp is at 81-84°c

Happy days :)

Similar stats myself......

Temps are a bit higher @ 90/91 but as I got two cards in the rig I'm satisfied.

I know the GTX480 went all the way to 1800 shaders under water......so fingers crossed for you.

However, when 1800 was hit (stable) they had upped the voltage to +1.1mV which is higher than what MSI Afterburner will allow me to push the 470's (1.087mV).

I can't remember the review this was in so I don't know what they used to up the voltage.

Also, I don't know if the 480 allows for the higher voltage under Afterburner.

Thanks for the news TT - must be a pain to compile. With several upgrades still working their way through the pending cycle, we should see an even higher team RAC over the coming weeks.

Congrats also to all the tiffy wiiners I haven't previously acknowledged! Splendid show what, ehhh????!!!! :D

I would try and push it further but think I'll leave it there for now the Zotac seems a good clocker :D Cant wait to put it underwater and see how it goes :)

thanks for the news TT, we are doing well :p
Looks like I will have to have a play then, my 470 is at 1500 shaders and happy..
My 480 is at 1550 shaders and ok for now, if I push it any further it drops to 2D clocks after 20mins or so . The 480 is at 61C and the 470 is at 71C This is at stock volts for both cards. I presumed that there wasnt as much headroom on the 480's as they were pretty much at their limit anyways.
Im using EVGA precision which can't mod the volts as when I tried MSI afterburner it didn't pick up any cards..
Have to be a bit careful as my case is pants so cooling is not good, it was off the bay and selection was poor as I wanted a case with 10 pci slots for the 4 dual width cards that will eventually go in there. It is this horrible red montrosity that makes me think of teenage boy racers, but I got it for 50 quid so cant complain too much!

lol
It's a Thermaltake Xaser VI Red ATX and looks like the case designer was on steroids :D

directron2119896021227.gif

Half the case fans weren't working when I got it - still one not working now and the airflow is terrible, since putting my 480 in the temps on my 470 jumped 10C straight away - will have to have a look at that soon, but its finding the time to do it while at work

urgh. thats definately one for the rig/cruncher specs thread.....
on a side note, I am informing all those with stompage fantasies that I shall be away for most of September, meaning 0 output from me... I know I've just made edge's day :p
but then those 460s on today only look quite sweet...
must resist. must resist.

edit: see? I've given you a whole month to plot, plan and erm... can't find something starting with p that will fit.......ah... pummel.

Bad news for the team, but good news for me - I might be able to catch you, but it will depend on how much of a lead you have built up by then - goes off to boinc stats to work out the dates :D

......LSD more like!!!!

I know - its under a desk at work in a closed room - too embarrassed to have it sitting on a desk where it might be seen or get better airflow - unfortuantly it looks worse in real life - it really is a munter of a case!
