SETI@home News Vol. 117 (17/10/10)

I've quit seti as well, but thats different, we haven't gone and started doing it somewhere else. And yes I might just come and give you all a bit of a scare one of these days :p

If you think you've been missed off the milestones list then please let me know so I can add you manually.

I'm not quitting SETI, but I think I was missed... I recently got this for the past month of leaving my low-energy Athlon running 24/7: :D

cpartcert1.php

:)

Nice one Stickie! That's the spirit!! I still seem to be dribbling out some small amount of dumpage (shall we call it seepage) so I don't feel like I hjave totally opted our :p

ive had another go at getting both my gpus to work and ive cracked it. i created the cc_config file from scratch and its now fine.

oh and boo hiss to area 51 for joining gpu users!

Nice tiffy Stickman well done, glad to see you got both cards working k3v nice one :D
Ok shoot me down in flames but does anyone else get the feeling seti will be down till friday, saving a few quid on electric so am not really complaining :)

yup, working fine.I think originally I copied an xml file and renamed it cc_config.xml (rather than just cc_config) and when I created a new txt file and saved as cc_config.xml it worked correctly.

Aye it is a bit nippy Mr M never mind seti will be back and i can get into my winter routine of being huddled round a few warm rigs....chestnuts roasting on an open gpu...jack...well you know the rest.
K3v i only just got the hang of app_info config files ooooo that might turn me to drink :)

Projects are down due to a database machine crash.
The machine that serves the BOINC database crashed. The projects are down until the recovery is complete. The current database machine has become too unreliable to continue as the primary DB server. We are going to move this functionality to the machine that is currently acting as the replica server. This will be a temporary fix, as this move will leave us with reduced throughput capacity. We are ordering a new replacement sever. This purchase is made possible by generous donations from SETI@Home participants.

Farewell to Mork. Note that this will likely mean limited stats and probably no DB dumps.

Oh well, at least that will give me the chance to clear these vlar's (554!!) I can now switch some or most of them to the gpu's and hopefully run everything down so I can re-attach and finally clear the ghosts :-)

I prefer winter to summer but getting use to this cold snap and non heat emitting rigs just is not on. I might have to put central heating on seing as seti is out of order....or would it be cheaper to o/c everything in site and run furmark for a few hours :)
Mumble mumble groan meh :(

I would love to say that the loss of seti was a problem but the games rig ran out today so now i can play Medal of Honor without having to suspend work :) so guess its good timing for me ;)

oof, finally some kinda stats... and it looks like everyone has passed me :)
a lot of accumulated downtime from all my machines, so looks like everyone is likely to stay ahead of me for the forseable future.... i'll be back!
