Setting up Lync 2013

Hey.

Wondering can anyone advice. Im setting up Lync server and its going to run on windows server 2012. I have no experience with Lync what so ever.

Basically I just want to setup a simple Lync server so I cant test. I want to trouble shoot issues and configure phones to it.

Is there any really simple walkthroughs for me?

If you have no experience with Lync then you will struggle, you can find more then enough information on the web on the setup of a front end server and edge server.

Microsoft do supply all the instructions for getting a basic install up and running but use the Lync Planning Tool and it will save you a lot of time

Also, unless you are using full fat SQL do not tick the archiving box when creating the topology as it will fail, and you will have to remove all of Lync and start again as I found out.

Do it on a VM and snapshot at the start of each major stage.
