You’ll be looking at the AMD 580/90 new at that budget. Have a look in the MM and you might snag a 1070 or 2060, maybe even a VEGA 64.

980ti’s are going for around £150 and is still a fantastic 1080p card. I recently sold my 1080 for £260 too.

AMD is due to launch the 5500XT series in the next month or two apparently, with that budget I'd say it's worth holding out a little longer.

I have seen a few 1070's on MM going for around £150 and have been tempted, just want second opinions before buying something and wishing I went for something else :p

I'd love to wait but my PC is all built up and waiting and I have little patience :p

Unfortunate, but I know the feeling!

I'd take MissChief's advice and check the MM then, you might luck out on a 1070 + or a Vega.

Second-hand 980Ti or 1070 will give you the best VFM, maybe even a 1070Ti - if you're lucky.

Buying new, either wait for the 5500XT or pick up a 590/1660 now. I think the 1660 will likely overclock much further than the 590, though stock performance of the latter is close to the 1660 for less money.

What card do you have right now?

I had a RX470 but sold it and put money towards a new GPU with more oomph... What would be a better choice, Used 1070 or new 1660?

The 1070 is going to be quite a bit faster, have more video memory, but most likely lack any warranty.

The 1660 will be new, have a warranty, likely overclock better, consume less power, but have less memory (6GB), though, for the most part, I don't see that as a serious consideration yet.

It depends on what aspects mean the most to you.

I want something that will play games at a good level of detail and run smooth at higher settings.... I was considering the newer 1660 the good thing is it has warranty so any issues are sorted

1070 will be easily buyable for that budget.

Members market. You don’t have access yet so can’t sell on the forum.

You get access at 1,000 posts, judging by your current post rate you should achieve this in 6 months which ain't bad!

In terms of performance, easily the Vega 56.
