Sharia Law coming to swimming pools in Australia

I have no real issue with it, but others might...

It might however fall under general indecency laws. In which case it would be for the local populace to decide as a whole if they allow nude swimming. With the majority of nudist beaches though the nude part is optional, so they don't tend to impose their dress code on others.
.

other way round mate. :p

We've got differing opinions on this. I'm not fussed about whatevers happening as long as it doesn't effect people negatively, which to me this doesn't.

I don't read much on GD but from the looks of this thread there's a big anti Islam thing going on which I can sort of understand, but if you're worried about their values being forced upon the Australians in this instance, are you opposed to the UN Troops fighting the war in Afganistan and trying to instill certain Western ideals (democracy for example) on their country? Again I don't read much on GD so you might do, i'm just asking

As far as I'm concerned it's not anti-Islam, it's anti-anyone that refuses to adjust themselves to the environment in which they have chosen to place themselves.

Whether or not the pool is closed to the public (I don't see how it can be, since there are numerous mentions of a family event), forcing people to cover up to pander to a minority's over-sensitivities just simply annoys me.

I wouldn't waltz into a pool in a country that allowed nude bathing, and demand that everyone wore swimming trunks because I was offended by the sight of the human body.

Reagrding the war, I'm totally against trying to instil Western values on such a society, but I'm not against the war as such, as Afghanistan is full of opiate-producing terror-crims. But that's another discussion.

Bespoke swimsuit for muslim woman.

Saw loads of girls in them in Egypt

LOLmuslims...taking over the world one country at a time:p

On a more serious note...bit silly really...no i dont think muslims should be afforded special rights, i know as a muslim myself i dont want anyone giving me special treatment but as usual the story has been given a sensationalist spin to it....im pretty sure that the muslims they are attacking couldnt and wouldnt give a flying toss about whether the pool should have segregated areas etc etc. It winds me up that these bodies seem to think they know whats best for muslims in general when really they dont and go a long way to help alienate them even further.

The first part addressed your point, the second part was just showing that nudists, on the whole, seem to be more tolerant than muslims. :D

No i mean

Imposing the dress code of another group, no matter how well minded, is wrong and so shouldn't be done.

we impose a "everyone must wear swimwear code" on nudists :p
