Sharing two ADSL connections

I have two local computers each with their own ADSL connection.

Can I network both PC's together and share both connections with both PC's?

Would a Netgear DG834 ADSL connected to each PC + ADSL line work if both Netgear DG834 ADSL's were connected together?

I'm then not too sure how WinXP then needs to be configured to utilise both ADSL data streams.

Each PC already has its own USB ADSL modem and I have an old PIII gathering dust, however I have had no experience with Linux before.

Well it sounds like its worth a try at least. As long as the Linux distro is easy to install. Can anyone suggest any others?
