Two very similar pictures, I'm not sure which I like the most. Probably the second as I think the extra sky benefits the picture. The subject itself is soon to be 1200 houses if the Council get their way.

I quite like the hazy look, nice shots. What lens did you use for those?

The lens used was just the 300d kit lens AKA the 18-55. A lot of people slate it (and rightly so) but stopped down to around F/8 (f/11 in this case) its gives okay results.

lovely sky colour, really like them. where abouts are you from xolotl, that wood is about 10 mins from my house!! :)

was a protest there the other week!

Without saying too much as this is a public forum its less than a 5 minute walk from my house. Edwalton to be precise.

As for the haziness issue mentioned earlier it may be down the the raw processing. 'twas my first time using raw :0 so I still need to get the hang of processing it.

i reckon we should get a nottingham meet together mate, would be cool:)

Hope you don't mind, I had a bit of a play with the first as it looked a bit flat. Having said that checking the histograms there was no clipping so technically it was well taken but I think it needs a bit more 'punch'.

It could still be better as it's just a quick PS job but I think it stands out a bit more.

Briefly...
I processed the sky separately from the ground using a layer mask and upped the brightness/contrast on each section separately. I also cropped the bottom off to put the horizon on the bottom third though loking again it may have looked better cropping the sky off.

Nice pic xolotl but i think this edit is better.

Thanks for the comments.

I like ranarama edits. Makes it a lot better and I'll have ago at trying to do that my self. Layers is one thing I haven't got the hang of in PS.

As for Colin_da_Killer's edited version I'm not a fan of it. The dream like effect is done well but I'm personally not a fan of it.
