Just been watching this again for the umpteenth time as it was on TV :)

Still my favourite film of all time! So clever and brilliantly written.

Excellent performances throughout, just the best film ever. (obviously imho)

If anyone reading this hasn't seen it. DO.

If anyone reading this who hasn't seen it, come out of the nuclear bunker you've been trapped in since 1993!

Number 2 on www.IMDB.com highest rated films ever. Great film indeed

Obviously not recently, as someone escaped from prison using exactly the same method a few weeks ago!

Im just watching it now, I think its the first time ive ever watched it all the way through and so far im quite impressed

If you get a chance to read the original Steven King novella (Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption) do so, it's very good.

Agreed, no film kept me so gripped as Shawshank Redemption did, come to think of it I've only actually seen it once :p

It is a good story - more depth than the film obviously but if I had to pick between the two I would go for the film.

I cannot think of any other cases of a film being better than the book or story but this is, the film - as said before is pretty much perfect.

Forrest Gump?? apparently that is

You cant really compare the two anyway

No matter how many times I watch it, the final scene where Red's walking up the beach to Andy still strikes me as one of the most beautiful movie moments I can recollect.
