And the point is it all completely stupid and a direct result of Trump and Republicans in general wishing to humiliate Iran and destroy its economy for no good reason other than the fact they're not sympathetic to american interests in the area. Yet more death and destruction all for the sake of power and influence.
Partly true but much more so the simple fact that its all for fighting for power and influence between two tribal divisions in the middle east that hark back to well before the west was ever involved there.

Furthermore, Trump isn't doing it for no good reason. It's a simple game of resource acquisition.

Yes, the resource of expendable Arabs, while they jump over eachother for a chance to look wealthy.

We're long past the point where this is justified for Oil, indeed a war would only assure a massive price increase, though i'm sure the oil sands and frackers would love that. It's embarrasing at this point, it would have been far less expensive had we just been the righteous diplomat and got the Sunni/Shia around a table until an agreement could be got.

After all, most wars end in an agreement, why waste all that time killing people just to arrive at the same conclusion.

Wont know if you dont try, and have a desire to actually resolve it, rather than abusing millions of people.

They will never agree on religion (obviously), but they should be able to agree that the situation would be rather awful if the rest of the world abandoned them, probably too late for this sort of pragmatism though. I suppose proliferation of violence is much too desirable for the war hawks sitting pretty.

LOL, yeah because they are entirely rational in their beliefs and are open to change :D

Their whole setup is based on superstitions and nonsense from a 1000 years ago, you think they will ever change? Absolutely clueless.

Just the small detail that unfortunately it is the conflict that drives enough motivation for an agreement to be reached.

Look even around these forums - more often that not people are still given to tribalism in their beliefs few are willing to examine their own position in a frank manner and even those that try will still fall foul of a certain amount of it.

Details kind of confused at the moment but sounds like Iran might have accidentally shot missiles at one of their own ships.
