Moving into a new flat in the near future, but only for 6 months.

Are there ISPs that will sort out a decent connection for this period of time, or is 12 months the standard? Would they allow me to change address after 6 months or is a contract tied to the one postcode?

If the above is possible, which ISPs would you guys recommend? I've looked on ADSLguide but it's a little confusing, and there are loads of ISPs listed.

Ideally I'd like a pay monthly connection with no fixed 12 month contract, and no/high GB download cap.

Cheers guys :)

Plenty of ISPs offer monthly contracts (Pipex, Nildram, Plusnet , Zen, Eclipse et al), but expect to pay the activation fee.
Cap size will vary with price. Pay peanuts, get tiny cap.

Because there are loads of ISPs. Take a look at the compare tool, and the respective ISPs' forums.

Most will let you move (and handle the process), but want another activation fee, unless you've either been with them (probably >6 months) for a while or are tied in after moving.

Yeah I was expecting to have to pay fees left right and centre, but I'm happy to do that as I'd rather not be without a connection for 6 months; I might actually have to leave the house and talk to people otherwise...

With NTL at the mo and have been happy with their connection, might see if they will do me a deal with TV and Internet, then let me shift to another part of the country with it all in 6 months time.

Pipex don't offer 1 month contracts. All of their packages are free setup.
