Should I bother with the xbox 360 hd drive or wait?

Hi everyone,

I have a Samsung LE32R87BDX (720p).

I was wondering if (now that the xbox 360 has a 3 year warranty) it is worth me getting the HD drive add on for the console. I can't really afford a stand alone HD drive at the moment and this add on is pretty cheap.

I've read however that it cannot do lossless HD audio whereas other HD players can? Is this true, how bad is this if so?

Also it would have to be via VGA rather than HDMI because the 360 can only do VGA or component. I know my screen does HDMI 1:1 pixel mapping but not sure about VGA.

So, is it worth getting this add-on, or worth holding out for quite a while?

it cant do the lossless sound fully it converts it to 1.5mbps dts.

for the £100 or so it is Its worth it if you want it at right now. if you wait a few months though the standalone players will be cheaper and a better deal.

OK, i'll wait a few months I think, or maybe I can last til Christmas or the Jan sales.
