Should I upgrade to Windows 7

Going from 2gb 939 system soon to 775 and 4gb. Would games and programs run better in Windows 7 or XP?

Primary needs are internet and old version of winamp

I can't think of any notable benefits that XP has over W7.

It's crazy to go to the former instead of the latter.

Well, I'm using W7 on a 2gb 939 system and wouldn't want to go back to XP.

XP is 8 years old now and out of mainstream support.

Recently upgraded to W7 from XP myself and haven't thought twice about the change.

Definitely the way to go, XP is an antique now, good in its time but now has be superseded by 7.

Windows 7 x64 all the way especially if you are going to be running 4gb of ram

Quite the detective. However you failed to spot that i said it was on a work computer that came with Windows 7 installed. I have tried the latest Winamp lite but always seem to go back to 2.5e and its better.

Suppose I can install it on a new drive and if i dont get along with it or it doent work properly can stick XP disk in and reformat

Also, on my work machine IE and Windows 7 doesnt like ebay for some reason. I start searching and it says not responding and have to close it. It works in IE (no addons) mode

I never use IE, I use Firefox instead, better at multiple tabs, and customisable, without adblock plus, the internet is horrible
