Should I wait to buy a 4870

I wanting to buy a 4870 on Friday or maybe Monday. ATI are releasing a new card early next month, will this effect the 4870 price? Is the new card a 4890? Do you think its worth it waiting to see if I can stretch to buy the new card?

It may reduce the 4870 in price.But you may find a 4870 on offer at the moment tho . Sounds like your like me you will keep waiting coz somat better is always just round the corner

I suspect that you will pay a premium for the 4890 card when released, maybe a small price drop on the 4870. I would wait if you can to see what happens

New ATi card is out on Thrusday (4890), along with Nvidia's new GTX 275, indications are the 4890 will be priced around £230, and the 275 pricing is anyones guess.

ive had different advice on this, some people say there will be a big price drop when the 4890 comes, and others say that there has already been a slow but sure pre-emptive price drop and there wont necessarily be anymoreof a drop thus just buy now if you want it.
