Should snow tyres be a legal requirement?

Stupid idea.

ITs a bit of snow, I dont see why anyone cares.

Ok, so some roads are closed and some kiddies dont get to go to school for a few days. Biiiiiiiig deal.

In other countries they have things closed and grinding to a halt too, but they just get on with it.

Why does everyone have to moan about it over here?

Its pathetic.

IT is (can be) a big deal.
If those kiddies are of age where they cannot be left alone, then at least one parent will probably have to take the day off work to look after them.
The company they work for could end up short-staffed, and unable to fulfil an order, meaning they lose business, meaning job losses.

Fair enough if the job can be done from home, but if not...

Of course that's probably a worst-case scenario, but these things do have knock-on effects.

I appreciate that, and I agree with your scenario, but I wish people would stop going on like its doomsday.

The same could be applied to someone who was sick, or any company who was short staffed.

Things happen, its life. I doubt many contracts were given to other companies as a result of the ash cloud that happened a while ago.

Anyone know where is meant to be the coldest place in the UK on Saturday?

Im thinking of heading there to get some nice extreme weather.

Status update of a girl I know on Facebook who drives a Z4, something along the lines of

"Manchester to London and back and no problems with the snow"

According to the media she should be broken down at the side of a closed road with a shovel frozen to her dead body and a boot full of long life milk and bread

No because as soon as you get out of side streets the main road tend to be gritted and ok. If people took there time there would be far less problems.

I had some complete and utter knobhead litterally come screaming up to my rear bumper and stay there the other day, he couldn't of been more than 3 feet away. I wasn't surprised when i turned off as it what a ***** in a Audi TT. People like that are why there are accidents.
