RIP

15 years of pleasure..........we all miss you loads xx

Yes they love the running water, which is why the fountain is so great. A bowl of still water is considered stagnant and possibly contaminated, in the kitty mind.

If only the kitty mind was so straightforward :p

Bella will not drink from a water fountain. She won't drink from a bowl (glass, porcelain, or metal). Won't drink from a running tap (although it amuses her for a few mins!)

She will, however, quite happily drink from the bird bath outside. Which is often quite green with algae, and generally nasty.

So... you explain that one :p

Treacle's preferred local boozer is the fish pond in the front garden...

Not quite as nasty as a bird bath, but can be a bit green on occasions.

They drink water outside as it contains the minerals etc they need. They also roll on the floor outside so when they lick themselves clean they also get extra nutrients. There not daft.

Interesting bit on the TV the other night about washing chicken and how it spreads any bacteria all over the place if done under a running tap.

The advice with that there is, people are advised not to wash their meat because they tend to splash it all over the place thus increasing the likelihood of contaminating your work surfaces with raw chicken. The obvious answer to that is, don't splash it all over the place and just be careful washing your meat. I think most people are smart enough to do that. However, some people are morons.

Mine and my partners cats, Kevin (don't ask!!) and Toffee. They're brother and sister and about a year and a half old. Adopted them in January from a local RSPCA. Fantastic pair of idiots!!!

Crinkly

That has to be one of your best pictures. :)

Our Ronnie came in this morning and looked like he has been rolling in mud.

our 7 week old Maine Coone girl Mia, shes a real character already! The breeder was a bit naughty to give us to her so young but shes well developed, litter trained, feeding and cleaning, and been given the all clear by the vets!

Yeah everything I read suggested 13+ weeks before taking them from momma. Otherwise you may end up giving them behavioural or other issues. Frankly I wouldn't have got a kitty from a breeder prepared to hand them over that young. It suggests they either don't know what they're doing, or worse, don't care (not you, the breeder!)

I disagree, an experienced breeder would know their kitties better than someone on the internet. Like toddlers, they all develop/learn at different rates.

You'll get the behavioural issues from the first few weeks they live with you and at other traumatic times in their lives.

I think this may be it, she is totally well rounded, not aggressive and interacts well with our other two cats already despite only have done the introductions over the last week we have had her, (slowly obviously).

she really is a specieal little thing! and has taken to sleeping with her little zebra!

We have renamed Holly to "The Hulk"

Just been to Vet for monthly weigh in - Down another 100g

Yes, that's a fair old weight for a girl. Our little lord lard-bucket also occasionaly called Timbo is knocking on 8 kilos now. He keeps telling us he's big boned.

Little floof.

I'm only regurgitating what the experts have said many, many times. Which I believe is what I said :p

Not all breeders are reputable, wouldn't you agree? Heck, there are tons of people "breeding" cats from a spare room in their house, and the level of knowledge such "breeders" have is going to be less than some of us in this thread!

Don't take it from me. Take it from all the veterinary associations. Or just don't agree full stop :p I'm sure some random on the internet knows better than the trained vets :p See, I can make dismissive comments too :p

I could go on and on and on with these links... because it's well established that 13 weeks and under kittens need to be with their mums.
