how do you know they havent changed the pcb mainboard in the newer consoles, not that they would effect noise, but they might not be prone to 3 red light syndrome.

There are still reports of people buying a new 360 and still getting the Samsung/Hitachi drives instead of the new BenQ ones. And even some of the new 360 Elites have the older drives :eek:

Thats not production line, thats a demo model. Its probably mocked up using old parts. Id expect to see the retail versions with the newer drives.

i think the new ones will use the BenQ drives or the 0079FK Hitachi models...

Well i dont think it says anywhere that the BenQ drives are going to be standard . They are just from a batch that were given BenQ drives. Microsoft hasn't said that BenQ are going to be in all the newly produced 360's or Elites. And i'd like to think that Microsoft would show the Elite off as much as possible by including the BenQ drive, but since the demo had the Hitachi drive, i think it was just taken at random from the production line.

I would expect to see Benq drives in all newly manufactured xboxes as they are as yet uncrackable, doubt Microsoft would put out hackable drives in new consoles given the option.

Changed my layout as things were getting stupidly hot, there is a easter egg above the CDs in the picture which has basically all melted from the two consoles heat! The TV gets very hot too..

3 red lights are pretty much due to lead free solder and a **** poor X-clamp tension deviced used to hold the heatsink in place on the processors. replacing this tension device with a proper screw clamp has solved a lot of 3 light breakdowns.

This be my front room of my own place. Mrs was whinging I spent too much time upstairs on PC, so I moved it. Now I can ignore her in the same room. Shes the one sat on the sofa btw (lol

)

Hopefully getting the downstairs sorted out this summer, I ******* hate wallpaper.

Oh, and the 360 works fine where it is. Its quite well ventilated and I do not have anything on top when I use it.

Quite simply my best tech purchase yet. Great for the graphics work I do and should last a couple years if not more.

It wouldn't turn on earlier, I nearly cried.
