Really? so the vents are just for show?

Fine by me, but with all the problems with overheating then it just seems silly to me to block up vents or have them so close to the wall that the hot air out the back is just being sucked back in.

There are vents all the way around the console. When standing vertical, where the GameCube is, it will be covering only a small amount of one vent.

Your original post mentioned nothing about the 360 being close to the wall.

So the vent is there for a reason correct? and in your manual it asks you not to cover any vents right? so why take the chance and cover up a vent on an already risky console? and what gives you the evidence that covering it will do little harm?

The vents arent fully covered i left a space between them, it wont be staying like that anyway, when I get two new dell monitors there wont be room for the GC...

Also its really not too close to the wall, there's enough space for ventilation... If not it breaks and I get a new one, I really cant be arsed messing around trying to get the perfect position for it to keep cool, i'd rather just keep it where its accessible and not in the way and have to replace it than spend ages messing around to have it extremely well placed etc...
