Whats going on there?

He read about the anti piracy measures in the 360 update that was due today and ripped his 360 apart to quickly flash the dvd drive back and he got 3 red lights for his trouble. :D

Realistically he had the cover off because of cooling issues and in the bitterest of ironies his 360 over heated and left him with 3 red lights. So he was clever and decided to add his own air funnelling system, which fixed the problem. Cue video to be uploaded to youtube as the mother of all fixes for the 3 red lights

mate as you've open'd up your 360 can you confirm to me that the only fans inside are the 2 at the back is that right ?, somebody told me theres a small one in the dvd rom drive but I can't beleive that.
Only two fans at the back and their relatively small.

LOL, that last update fixed the problem with using a monitor that I had.

I can't afford an HD TV so a widescreen monitor is the next best thing. I haven't had a chance to test it out properly but it looks good so far. Sound through my amp sounds brilliant.

I wish Apple made it possible to use the iMac as a normal screen, it would've been cheaper.

Inside a custom built area :)

The pictures of the TV don't do it justice at all, not enough light in the room today. But you get the idea. The picture angles are pretty poor too! PS, if the 360 gets too hot you just open the doors + the controllers still work when the unit is closed.

obviously don’t live with a woman then :P

The cupboard works, it is in the living room and has a matching one on the other side of the fireplace – it is a Victorian house so anything too modern looks terrible. No cables or mess either.

42" wow, that is a biggy. I can imagine that is pretty awesome!

To give you a better idea how it fits in here is an overview picture (be aware only moved in 2 months ago! - still waiting on artwork :():

Looks nice and tidy. Could you not ventilate the unit behind the TV somehow? I've got a similar setup with my 360 inside a cabinet, but have fitted 2 80mm fans into the back to suck the hot air out, keeps it lovely and cool! :)
