I can keep my system stable with a 4.5Ghz clock and - Offset but if I leave it idle for too long it crashes, almost like it's not getting enough juice when SpeedStep kicks in.

Any ideas chaps?

Just had a couple of hours fiddle with lots.

Could force a crash by Sleeping, would not resume.

Disabling PLL Overvoltage allows me to Sleep and Resume as normal so I hope this solves my long time idle freezing.

Bumped a few voltages a notch also.

Back to -0.05 Offset which does wonders for full load temps. Not having PLL Overvoltage on has not appeared to affect my stabilty at 4.5GHz.

My temps totally depend on how warm my room is, at times it can roast and idle temps rise to 41, other times it's as cool as ice at 33 :p

Worth noting that my fans run at 50% speed at all times (H80 is at mode 1 via the block controller). Only the 200mm intake is at 100% due to it being 900~ rpm anyway and barely makes a whisper.

I quite like my setup, quite, fast....awesome :D

If you have the space for the radiator and fans then I can't recommend it enough :p

Snap, the highest full stress temp I've seen from my H80 (with vipers, nice to see the noctua fans seem upto the job too) is about 72c, gaming load I'm lucky if they break 50c :)

Same here :)

Just done an hour of Prime stress test at 5Ghz. Will try overnight later. Passes the Intel Burn In test this morning also :)

Not too bad to be honest. Very quiet when in windows as expected and only get very noticeable when both graphics cards are maxing out in BF3.

Must have been lucky with the chip as its rock solid!

Got 3 27" Hazro monitors arriving this week for work. Eyefinity here I come but not expecting much as its 11.1 million pixels to push lol.

I MIGHT be wrong but offset is voltage that is added/removed to the already increased amount that is applied by TurboBoost ramping up the speed.

That is if 1.20volts is applied at a TurboBoosted 3.4Ghz and you have an offset of +0.05 applied it would net 1.25 of volts instead.

I THINK.

Edit - It would seem + Offset does not result in a clear as an increase as using - in removing voltage. + might add more than 0.05 at full load.

I only got this system new last week from overclockers. I have managed 4.7ghz so far with the vcore at 1.344, I won't try to push it more I am happy with 4.7ghz. Very stable, I need to see if I can lower the vcore but right now I am still doing a weeks testing of everyday stuff, ie gaming and encoding. Passes prime tests easy. Ram set at 9-9-9-27@1600mhz :)
