I am torn between getting a wide angle sigma 10-20 lens or just a fuji f31fd. It will be used in yalong bay (google image it for an idea).

I am thinking the fuji may just be the one that could pull off replacing the bulky dSLR in this trip, especially at the beach - What are your thoughts? Fuji all the way?

Well from what I've heard the F31d is a better peformer in darker conditions than in daylight (compared with other compacts). I'd rather use the SLR personally unless you really can't be bothered lugging it around.

In the end, I have gone with the fuji compact - I was that close to ordering the sigma last night. In the end, the size won over this time. I also ran in my mind the scenario. Holding the girls hand at sunset on the beach with a lowepro bag, or not! :p The heart won over the head this time - but from what ive read of the fuji - it seems pretty decent. For compacts I think I draw the line at the 6 megapixel size.

At the end of the day, Ive paid about half what I would have paid for the lens. Loosing that camera wouldnt leave me in as much tears! But I still drool at the sigma!
