Sigma 120-300 or Nikon 70-200 VR1

What puts me off a 300mm prime is that what if my focal subject is framed at 200mm i need to walk backwards..but if i cant ? With that lens i can just zoom out..

And the 70-200mm... i dont find it long enough!
 
I also miss my 120-300, was a great lens but was far too big/heavy to take out on a whim, so only got used about 5 times in the 18 months I owned it.
