I have a question,

The signal on our TV keeps going and you have to fiddle around with the scart lead on the back of it to make it return. I am 99% sure it's the scart socket or the connection behind it. I've tried pulling the cable out and blowing air into the socket (with my mouth[which is on my face]{a part of my body}]) and that doesn't fix it. Am I right in assuming it's a loose connection with the scart box and the rest of the circuit board in the main bit of the TV? Any ideas on how to fix it? It seems a shame to throw away and otherwise in working perfect order TV.

Thanks

Yeah, it's currently using one of those duplicator things so I tried it using an individual source on its own. There's also one scart socket, hence the duplicator :(

I wouldn't strip the tv apart to have a look unless you know what your doing, big capictors = you splatted on the opposite wall.

Maybe take it to a tv repair shop or use the excuse for a HDTV.

Try another cable. Try to defintely locate the problem, i.e move up?, move down? slightly left, etc You could work around it by taping the cable in that position.

Definately the TV end of the cable?

I have a similar problem with my S-Video on my TV, I took it apart but couldn't get access to the socket (it's at the front).

You've got nothing to lose by taking a look inside (if you have solder skills) and check the socket for dry joints. JUST DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE - TV's STILL HOLD MASSIVE CHARGES HOURS AFTER POWER OFF. Keep pets and children out the room.
