Are there any good quiet (even silent) graphics cards out there that play crysis at max settings (or close to)?

I need to build a pc but the main requirement is low noise / price. Hence, I've been putting it off for nearly a year.

Not too bothered about processor speed so currently looking into the e5200 that seems to be best bang-for-buck. Not sure about mobo, any help on this would be greatly appreciated also.

Placed in General Hardware instead of Sound sub-forum since inclusion of cpu considerations/recommendations.

you want quiet, and cheap, while still being able to play crysis at max settings? That isnt going to happen.

What res you planning on playing it at? since there isnt a lot that can play crysis at max settings at a decent resolution, and they certainly arent silent, unless water cooled.

Well most modern graphics card are quite loud with stock coolers so you can always buy a new cooler for a new graphics card.

I just fitted a Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo to my Sapphire ATI 4870 and its great cant hear it at all :)

Which mobo you got before we get cpu considerations :)

Also got any preferences over amd/intel and whats your budget

he asked for advice on mobo too, so im assuming you dont have that yet
whats your actual budget? and is that for basically a new full tower? as i suspect

Thanks for the replies.

I'm looking at a new tower. I'm passed the 'get the cutting edge' since in these times, the latest processor will save you a second or two during boot etc. and not worth the extra couple hundred pounds in my opinion.

Earlier I was looking at a system based on the following:

Abit IP35 mobo
Intel E5200
EVGA GTX 260

Reasons being: the E5200 overclocks quite well, and the EVGA card was meant to be reasonably quiet.

Sadly Abit are no more, and the IP35 isn't at ocuk anymore. But that mobo was for around £45 and allowed oc'ing. I know the Asus P5Q mobos are also recommended but that was nearly 100.

Budgetwise, I don't mind the spend, but it has to be the best value combo for MOBO/GFX/CPU with the pre-requisite that the gfx must be quiet, then I'll figure the rest out for the tower since I am going for a specialist silent rig (antec/seasonic/scythe etc).

I'm sure you all are more expert than I and your advice will be gratefully received. Thanks.

budget go AM3 or AM2+

going socket 775 is a hit and miss but the E5200 is an AWESOME chip!

IP35 great board but all depends on what price you are paying for it tbh:D
