Considering both of these, the Silverstone Fortress has
- Front 1 x 180mm intake fan
- Rear 1 x 120mm exhaust fan
- Top 1 x 180mm intake fan

Would you use the Corsair H50-1 as an intake (as per instructions) or use as an exhaust.

Also I've heard that the supplied H50-1 fan is not that great. Assume I can just use the rear fortress fan as a replacement, as there is only room for 1 anyway.

Any assistance or advise appreciated.

The Fortress works on positive air pressure, so fans should be set to exhaust. I use two Apache fans in a push>pull config H50 in my Fortress.

Fan(push)>Rad>Fan(pull)>>>Air flowing out of case.

The Fortress 120mm fan air flow > 40.9CFM, don't know what kind of temps you would get / Apache fan - 57.53CFM, is well used by folks in the forum and works very well indeed.

Got mine push pull exhaust also, temps are fine - 45C idle, 60C load. I'm using Scythe Kama PWM fines.
