Ok so please give me some grace as it was my first visit to a Grand Prix Track on an actual race weekend today, but I just wanted to say
Oh my god what a bloody brilliant day!!!!!!
The place went completely mental when Lewis got pole, and to hear that sort of noise was just incredible.
It was brilliant actually seeing the cars on the big TV's, and then watching them drive past you.
We wandered round the whole track, I bought far too much stuff, and I also managed to blag my way into one of the grandstands by claiming I was pregnant and could I please sit down for a bit.
All in all a fantastic (that word doesnt even cover it really) day out, and I cannot wait until tomorrow.....except for the 4am start!!!
(oh and the fact there are no ad breaks was pretty good too! :D )

Watched it on TV, obviously missed the atmosphere a bit but it looked great, especially as you say when Hamilton got pole. Glad you enjoyed it.. any photos?

I was a bit far away but give me a mo and I will have a look through them
(plus I kept missing the cars cos they go so fast!!)

Am definitely hooked and will be going again from now on methinks.

Looks like you've bought far too much stuff judging from the last pic ;)

You attending the race too? Have I mentioned that I need to do this next year...

I got a formula one top, a silverstone top (have to say the actual Silverstone merchandise is incredibly reasonably priced compared to some of the teams) and a "Its not just for boys" top
Also got the child I look after a Hamilton top, a programme, and an umbrella, one of the big ones with Silverstone on, again the difference in pricing for these was incredible, the McClaren one was £35, and I got a Silverstone one for £14.

Yes I am, early start tomorrow, but I already know it will be worth it, the tv coverage just doesnt do what the real thing is like, justice.
And no fathead, and no ad breaks! :D

Looks like a lovley day. If you get the chance take some pics of the Merc Estate Safety Car xD

I take it you are refering to everyones favourite motor sport commentator :D
Have a great time tomorrow. Unfortunately I shall be watching the race on my old 21" telly with a bag of chocolate rasins. All feel sorry for me :p

Boo to McLaren for ripping the public off with their merchandise, although I can't say Ferrari stuff is any more reasonably priced :(

As I am not a Ferrari fan I didnt go and look in any of their tents, will try and have a gander tomorrow, the McClaren kids tops were only 20 quid which wasnt too bad, some of the stuff was just ridiculously priced though, like a waterproof jacket for over 75 quid, apart from the logos etc, it was very similar one I bought in an ordinary shop for 20 quid.
The programme for a tenner is brilliant value, its really thick and jam packed with loads of stuff for me to read sat waiting for the race from 6am tomorrow!

I am up at this ungodly hour, just about to leave for Silverstone again, will come back with more pics I expect, god isnt it quiet outside at 3am.
I havent even dared face putting the lights on yet!
See you later!
Oh and GO LEWIS!!! :D

Blimey, I can't remember the last time I saw 3am since...well, ever really. The one advantage of watching the race from home is that I got out of bed at 11 today and am currently slumped at my desk in my boxers :) Now I just need to get changed and go and buy my requisite chocolate rasins before the coverage starts. Life is hard.

Enjoy the race. I'm actually really looking forward to this one even though I'm only seeing it on the telly so you much be having a ball. Hope Lewis comes through for you :)

I am shattered, but I had a really really good time, will come back tomorrow and post some pics in the thread, Scott Speed walked past us on his way back to the pits, and we saw the odd bit of overtaking, also I think I got a picture of (due to him lapping them) Lewis, DC and Jenson all on the same corner.
Am off to find some aftersun, and collapse in a heap, would definitely recommend any F1 who hasnt been to an actual race to get to one if they can. Tickets for next years race are already on sale!

I borrowed a mates three-day pass to go yesterday as she had to work (!) and it's the first time I've gone to Silverstone and I absolutely loved it! To begin with we watched practising at the Farm section of the track and then it became evident that I would need some ear plugs as the sound the Super Aguri's made was deafening!

Watched qualifying from Becketts and when Hamilton got pole the whole place erupted like England had won the World Cup! Great atmosphere!

Only downside is that I somehow obtained sunburn to my face and neck and I'm in considerable amount of discomfort. :(
Earplugs? You big girl, you don't get the proper sound then.
