Since when did CCC become obligatory in ATI drivers?

Was just about to download Cat 6.2's when I noticed that the CCC is not as much of an optional download anymore.

I know I can download the Display Drivers only, but I assume that they won't give me any access to 3D Settings, like FSAA and AA?

Is the best way to download just the Display Drivers and use ATI Tray Tools to adjust settings?

Thanks!

It didn't, if you don't want to use it then just install the drivers, and then an old CP from a previous set, or use ATi Tray Tools. :)

I don't know why everyone gets so worked up about the .NET, Nvidia are going to use it as well, just ATi started using it first, and besides as ive said you don't have to use it if you don't want to. :D

Ppl need to realise that the CCC is not forced on you, its not obligatory, if you don't want to use it, then don't its that simple. :)

I realise it's not 'obligatory', but if you don't download it, presumably you get no access to advanced 3D features.

I think I'll do the standard Driver download and use ATI Tray Tools.
