single core to dual core do you need to reinstall windows?

I have just upgraded to an opteron 165 from a 146 and have windows xp sp2 pro. I noticed multiprocessor support wasn't active. Do I have to reinstall windows?

I have upgraded my bios to the latest 3.8 bios on a msi k8n sli plat but when I go to update driver I only have the options standard pc and acpi computer. I have two cpu's under the processor category and at startup it detects it as opteron 165.
