There are 15 of us staying in this chalet at the end of Jan 'Arc en Ciel' Les Arcs, France.

Has anyone ever been skiing/boarding here before. Ive never heard of Les Arcs

Thanks

its an ok resort, we run one of the big sport 2000's in Bourg Saint Maurice so I'm over there quite often, its a concrete jungle and pretty devoid of character, Arc1850 is the best level although 1950 gets you higher quicker but with less to do

plenty of good skiing, but its no trois vallèe (not that im biased ;))

Was there over Christmas, I enjoyed it but was i was staying , peisey, was completely dead with nothing to do at night. The snow was good and wasn't that busy. I would agree with will and say 1850 look like the best place to be

I was there just before christmas, staying at Arc 1800, which is what I presume people mean when they say 1850. The runs are pretty good, with some decent blacks and good off-piste. You can get the trans-arc lift right up to the top straight from 1800, and that gives you access to pretty much everywhere. If you get the series of lifts that take you up to Aguille Rouge, then there is a good red/black that takes you all the way down to the bottom, which is a good 20 mins boarding.

Plenty of decent bars around the place as well, and lots of shops at 1800 to get various bits and pieces at.

did it 2 years ago as my first skiing holiday and it was awesome, we were in 1800 I think, we would go out every night get hammered, wake up in the morning and go skiing best holiday ever! Theres a few bars and clubs in the town and he skiing was fun. You will have a great time, don't worry!

Im going to 1950 on the 6th feb for a weeks boarding, apparently it's 7 euros a pint :(

Can't say i'll be drinking in pubs much at those prices. There is also a good supermarket on the drive up to les arcs which is cheap.

I'm out there at the same time - mate has just got back and said there's some good fun to be had off piste at the mo!

I am boycotting France till they sort these ridiculous prices out. Austria is now cheaper.

Go to Italy.

It's probably worth mentioning that everything is very expensive, beer, food, suncream etc! Make sure you stop off at a super cheap supermarket on the way up.

I'm going at the same time as you via the Eurostar! Wanted to stay in 1800 but booked late and 2000 was cheaper at the time.
