Me and my dad (mum doesnt ski) have been invited for a holiday, possibly France in a chalet somewhere high up in January. Will be staying with 10 other people where everything is paid for except alcohol and lunch :)

I can't wait as I havent been skiing in 4 years, last time i went was for my 21st and i'm 25 now.

Does anyone else have a skiing/snowboarding holiday booked for jan or feb? Will be a nice change to the usual summer holidays ive been going on. Now just to try and stay fit/get fitter and save a stack of money next month

Yup I have a ski trip booked. Should be awesome, all paid for already.

I should *really* get out and get a bit of fitter as I'm probably as unfit as I have ever been!

Going end of March with Uni and can't wait!

Jealous of the people who are on the Committee get a free trip pretty much in December too.

Going to dry slope tonight like every week which is good =]

No booked anything yet but hoping to go end of Jan.

I've been using 'Blades' for years and love them, however after having boarding lessons I'm thinking of leaving the blades at home.

Little bit worried even though I was 'top of the class' :)

2 weeks Skiing in and around Lake Tahoe at the end of January, beginning of February. Snow should be good this year in the Sierra Nevada thanks to El Niño.

Ski region is a bit sparse in the Sierra Nevada but when I went there it was sooo hot. Really random being in a T shirt and being hot.

Did Tahoe as well a few years ago, did Squar (spl?) valley and sugerbowl over there which were both really good but the pistes (or if you're from US, runs) are short and l'aprés ski sucks a bit.

I'm out to our place in La Chappelle D'Abondance on 27th Dec and back out for 4 days in Jan, then for 10days in March and lastly for a week over Easter :D

Teaching myself to board this year, determined to do it finally!!!

Edit: I have blades but haven't used them in years as they are just no fun when you get to the stage you can do anything you can on blades on skis and they suck in deep snow as well or ice, well just suck lol

11th Jan to Tignes / France ... cant wait, have waxed my skis already :)

Will be going again hopefully in March / April

Hope the snow is as good as it was last year !!

Mid Jan for 2 weeks in Chamonix. Then a week or so in the US or Canada in Feb, leaning towards Aspen. & Hopefully some more depending on whether the recession plays nice the next couple of months.

I couldn't stand on a board to start with then had a few hours of lessons in a group. The instructer didn't really help a lot as he knew I'd ski'd for years. However his basic instruction was enough to get me down the slope.

I love blades but have outgrown them. I don't mind ice, just deep snow!

When we went boarding last year, one of the guys had only skiied and took a learn to board 1 day intense coarse. He was lucky enough and no-one else was down for the coarse that day (up to 4 people) and he had the instructor to himself all day. After one day he was keeping up with us with linked turns... Took us 3 days of crappy ski school to get that far!

My advice: if you have the money and want to get good fast, get private lessons!
