Sky + 3D

Does anyone have an example of what a 3dtv image looks like

I doubt it as you'll be looking at it from a 2d screen. However I had the geforce 3 with the glasses back in 2001. And the 1 or 2 games that where designed for it, were amazing.

I remember years and years ago watching The Bill and Coronation Street in 3D. Why can't they just do that all the time? What is new about this technology?

Someone posted a thing on here a while back about a boffin with a modded Wii remote tied to his head which told a computer where his head was and displayed a picture accordingly. That was absolutely amazing but as the guy in the vid said, it only works for the wearer of the wiimote, and of course the picture was computer generated on the fly, there was no way you could film a tv show and have it give the same effect. Personally I rather like those red-blue 3d images you have to wear glasses for, I think the effect is great. I remember back inthe 80's they had a 3d night on Ch4 or something which I was well impressed with, but it has obviously never taken off.

This is the same principle - it's just using polarised light/glasses instead of coloured light/glasses.

How does that work?

Well I prob didnt read the article properly however I cant see like "normal" people, those 3D glasses dont work on me as I can only see through one eye at a time; however luckily I'm one of the ~40% that can drive/ride a bike. Still have issues catching balls etc though.
