Sky BB 40GB per month limit

Does anyone know if the 40GB runs from the 1st of each month or on a rolling basis from the day you were connected?

While my dad's not on Sky i've always worked on the basis that it was a rolling month from activation (billing cycle dates). He downloads bugger all anyway...
