Anyone here use it?

Thinking of switching provider, I'm with BT and they've been ok up to now but speeds are dropping off at peak times, I realise that Sky maybe no different but it's a hell of a lot cheaper.

Does the Sky service differ greatly from BT?

I been on a year with sky 16mb adsl2+ I am about 2km from exchange and I get 6mb. I never have once had to phone support. Never once has the service been down.

Be is enabled at you're exchange - I would definitely go for them instead myself, but it depends if Sky has anything else to offer that is more appealing, like their package of TV, phone and broadband, etc.
If you just want broadband then I would personally go for Be instead.

They offer, Sky+, 8Mb (40Gb limit) broadband, Unlimited calls for £31 or 16mb unlimited for £36, there is a £129 cost to upgrade from Sky to Sky+ but I'll work on getting that for free if I switch providers. All of the above currently costs me about £65 per month.

My only problem is I think my contract with BT still has a while to run:o

I have been with Be also; fantastic service, great technical support if you need it, good forums, good speeds. Obviously you'll be paying more, but both services are excellent.

I had the misfortune of being a Sky customer for a month.

Here I was a happy Bethere customer of 15 months synced at 17mbps and life was good. For some reason my other half decided £24.99 a month was too much and without my knowledge or consent migrated us to Sky.

Naturally the emails from Sky kinda gave the game away but Sky refused to cancel the order and said I'd have to cancel once the service went live. Migration/activation day arrived and 15 months of 17mbps (Fastpath) changed in an instant to 5mbps.

Knowing it would take a few weeks to migrate back to Be* I asked them why the speed was so slow and 15 minutes of script in broken English followed. From what I could make out the slow speed was due to my "copper twisted lines broken" or something equally as stupid as that anyway.

Not being in the best of moods I immediately cancelled under the cooling off period and obtained my MAC code. Be* were excellent throughout even if they did find my girlfriends actions amusing. I'm happy to say I'm now back with Be* and even though my "copper twisted lines broken" (yeah whatever) I'm back at my original 17mbps.

My request to cancel Sky's service was made on June 10th, which they confirmed and accepted, and my MAC code arrived on June 12th. I migrated back to Be* on June 26th but until yesterday Sky insisted I was receiving a service from them and I'm being charged accordingly. Depending on who you speak to I either have to write a letter, fax them or fill out an online support form to cancel a service that doesn't exist. I finally spoke to someone vaguely human who was very apologetic and refunded me the payments.

In short go with Sky at your own risk.
