sky hd box replacement

since he epg upgrade my box plays up on a daily basis with loss of signal and failed recordings resulting in housekeeping once or twice a day. the box is around 2 -3 years old so well out of warrenty.

what is the best cheapest way to get a new box?

Step 1: call Sky and tell them you're cancelling because your HD box has developed a fault, and you can't afford to replace it.

tried that mate they wouldnt play ball. werent interested.

Pay the £65 callout fee then - I believe it's a guaranteed fix??

Alternatively, do you have decent home contents insurance...? People have claimed for Sky boxes when they have broken.

However when they mention the £65, if you asked to be put through to cancellations, I'm amazed that they'd still try and charge you. I guess these Telecomms companies are clamping down on customer goodwill as it costs them shedloads.
