The hard disk on my out of warranty SKY+ HD box appears to be going wrong - lots of audio pauses, clicks, freezes etc.

I want to replace it with a 750GBish capacity drive to fix the issue and to increase the storage capacity.

The key thing is can anybody point me at a drive that is quiet and low power in order to suit the SKY+ HD box ?

Cheers all.

I put a WD Green power drive in mine last year. Its very quiet and I've had no issues with the drive.

I put a 500gb WD Green in mine a few months ago and had quite a few problems with stuttering etc, I ended up putting another 500gb harddrive I had in(Maxtor I think ?) and its been fine ever since.

1TB WD Green WD10EADS fitted and working fine - recording 2 HD playing one back all OK.

See how it works out over the next few days.

I have a WD10EADS which has caused a lot of stuttering from recorded program. I'm awaiting delivery of a WD10EVDS which is specifically tuned for AV applications in the hopes thats better.
