So ive just got my sky hd box setup today checked the settings and there is 1080i which is what it is already set on guessing it is default and noticed 720p is available. Now out of these which should i choose?

I have a 1920x1080p television but not to sure which one to choose now i understand that p is for progressive and i is for interlacing and understand how they both work but which is best? ive heard somewhere that progressive is better for gaming because of fast moving images so should i choose this due to that i watch a lot of action movies? does it work in the same way as say the difference between a 60hz and 100hz in that it will be less blurred on 720p?

Anyway ill quit rambling and see what you all think!

It may depend on your tv's ability to scale 1080i and 720p as to which is the best setting. there is only one way to find out (no, not fight as Harry Hill would say;)) just try both settings and see if you see any difference.

Indeed . Given that YOU have the equpment right there, try them both out for yourself, with the different content you watch, and come back and tell us what you found.
