All the pace ones were recalled and they are no longer used as a supplier i believe.

The Pace boxes were recalled but then the later boxes were released with a fix for the problem. You are correct they're no longer a supplier but Sky now own Amstrad so it makes sense to use them for all the HD boxes, right?

they were never amazing, even if you forgot the issue they got recalled for.

Neither was the samsung box we had. That just stopped accepting an input on input two one day and had to be replaced. Got an amstrad now thats actually been the best of the three so far.

i pay for sky+ just not the HD subscription so only get the freeview HD channels..

I wish they would remove the channels that you don't subscribe too. I think that's going to change soon isn't it? I am sure I got a letter saying it was.

They're removing the HD channels that don't match up to the standard mix pacages you have. For example if you don't have News and Events on your standard Sub you won't get Eurosport in HD anymore.

That is what really puts me off of getting sky HD

fair enough free box but then a tenner a month is just not justifiable for me.
I pay £28 a month with sky sports I'd love HD but not for a tenner a month.

The Sky+ facilities are free if you have any Sky channel Subscription, it's the HD subscription that's £10 extra. You can get a HD box without the HD sub but I think it's £99 for the box.

Finished installing it about an hour ago, The guy managed to drill straight through my BT line though, Wasn't impressed with that. But he made up for it & got a guy out to fix it within half an hour.

Box seems OK at the moment.
