Hi guys,

Got a new TV the other day (PX80, its fantastic) but I have a few questions regarding some every day usage I am.. used to.

For instance, I have assigned the Sky remote to the TV but, the Sky button at the top which used to switch everything over to Sky and is quite useful for quickly doing so, now does not. Volume, mute etc all work fine, but the Sky button just puts "6"s into the TV. Why?

Also, I have connected the Sky box by Scart and RFout2 to the TV, because without doing so the TV doesnt pick up its own Digital channels, is this right? Basically, the aerial that comes into the room has to go into the aerial in on the digibox otherwise the channels in the kitchen are lost. RF1 already goes somewhere, so RF2 was the only option I saw. Now the TV finds its own digital channels as well as having the Sky option on AV1. But the Sky button wont change it.

Any help is much appreciated.

Normally you have the aerial going to your sky, then onto the digibox, then onto the TV, iirc. Been ages since i looked at the back of our box.

Its chucking 6's to the screen because you've got it connected via RF, and usuallly sky engineers will tune it into channel 6 of your tv.

Try changing the output on the sky box to RGB scart to see if it takes priority over RF.

Is that an option in the skybox setup? I started with just a Scart connection from the skybox but then the TV didnt pick up its own channels so I put the RF2 connection in too.

Thanks for the pointers.

Lets just clarify what you've got.....

TV 1
Sky Box
Aerial (ie roof aerial) coming in somewhere.
TV 2 which i guess is using the other RF output of the sky to get sky in the kitchen?

I would have it like this....

Sky>SCART>Panasonic
RF OUT 1 on the sky box > TV2 Kitchen
RF OUT 2 on the sky box > Panasonic.
House Aerial > RF IN skybox.

Infact, that is how i had it set up and it was fine. Definitely check on the sky box that SCART etc. is properly enabled, to RGB. The RF is should only be used as a pass through, you'll need the sky box on for the panasonic to get its own channels. Try some other remote codes aswell.

Thats exactly how we have it, so I will check tonight about the SCART settings. Although, I think I searched for digital channels without the skybox on and it still found them off the RF2.. probably just me remembering it wrongly though.

Otherwise we will just have to live with pressing the AV button on the TV remote to switch.
