I get Sky sports and two packages with my Sky+ Box for £15.00 a month.

It runs out in 5 days time!

My pockets only open one way (for putting money in - NOT taking it out) and would like to know:

Has anyone managed to obtain further special offers from sky immediately after the initial "Offer Period"? My phone line for the sky+ box is supplied by NTL Virgin, I also get broadband with NTL.

Any suggestions to keep me, rather than them in the life to which I'm accustomed would be very welcome.

Thanx Paul. I like that word ALWAYS. :) I'll give it a try

You ring them and say "If you put the price up I will cancel and go to NTL"...

The person on the phone says ok and pushes a huge red button which cancels all your services :D

On a serious note, the above does ussually work ;)

actually sky have recently introduced a policy internally which has taken power away from customer service and cancellations to offer any half price / cut price sky subs etc.

If you try it now they WILL cut you off ..... however some people have been cut off then 2-3 weeks later sky have phoned trying to get them back with a cut price offer for a number of months. so if your not bothered about getting your subs cut off for a few weeks then its worth a try.

I believe that if I cancel they take away the + (plus) from the sky box so I wouldn't be able to watch one channel and record another, have live pause etc?

It's a Pity I'm NOT going on holiday in the near future as I'd have a go at cancelling it before I go and then contact them when I got back....

I don't know that if they take away the "+" if my already recorded programmes in the Planner would be accessable too?

From what I know recently sky have cut down on retentions quite a bit, you may get lucky but you may not, be prepared to have your bluff called.

Yeh, they called my bluff alright. One operative said that unless I had a flyer with "special offers" it would continue as agreed. Can't complain really I've had sky sports for one year for £15 a month and the cricket season is upon us........

Pity 'cus I thought my need was greater than theirs :)

Thanx for all your suggestions.
